Please review the following information about raiding etiquette.
Our main goal while raiding is to clear zones and have fun! This might not always be easy as many of the mobs we will be going after are very difficult encounters, and as a result we might perish at their hands and get some experience debt. To be perfectly blunt, “DEAL WITH THE DEBT!”
Come to raids on time
Ideally you should try and be at the zone entrance 15 to 30 minutes prior to the posted start time. This early arrival will allow the Raid Leader to set up the groups and determine what if any classes we need more of etc. Obviously, real life issues may come up once in a while and such an early arrival might be difficult, if this is the case PLEASE, PLEASE let a guild officer know so that a place can be held for you. Upcoming events can be found on the guild website / alliance guild site under calendar of events! Please make sure to sign up ahead of time!
Come to raids prepared
1. It shouldn’t have to be said but…make sure that you come to raids with all your gear repaired, repair kits, food & drink, potions (may be provided at zone in time), and any blessing or miracles from your “in-game god” that might help. It is also suggested that you consider investing in a second set of gear with different stats, resists, as well as procs! In regards to your spells: Please try an obtain Adept 3 or higher! Be sure to ask in guild if you need things made.
2. Be sure to visit the local faction merchants in town and purchase items from them. Many things they sell will be helpful not only to you but the raid force as a while in combat - STR / STA / INT / WIS etc potions, Stun potions etc...Yes these items will cost you some gold in addition to status - but what else ya really gonna do with all that status you have saved up? These items in many cases are what we will need to use in order to beat specific encounters. These are items that you are expected to bring and are not something that will be handed out prior to the raid.
3. In regards to your gear: you are expected to have level appropriate gear; this means all gear should be level 71 or higher! In addition, you gear is expected to be Mastercraft or better! This might mean that you spend time gathering to obtain rare components for gear to be made for you, spend time doing instances, or simply purchase through the broker! Failure to have inadequate gear may result in you having to forfeit your spot in the raid.
In raid chat
1. We use voice chat. Please remember while raiding that the raid leader will be giving important instructions such as where to stand / incoming mobs etc…and it is expected that you as a member of the raid force are paying attention! Additionally, causal conversation should not occur during a raid - this will reduce the amount of time we have to spend repeating instructions because people didn’t hear what was going on! It is the raid leaders job to instruct the raid force what they should be doing and when – please do not second guess their strategy!
2. While raiding please not only pay attention to what is being said, but also in raid chat as it is here you will see messages coming through about when to start attacking through the MA or when Wizards / Warlocks are about to nuke and might need extra heals.
3. Lastly it is important that you be able to listen to instructions on voice chat even if you can not reply in voice but rather type responses.
Looting Method
1. Coin will be split automatically.
2. The Raid Leader will control all looted items. Any item that is legendary or fabled can be offered up to the appropriate characters. In this method, any member that can use the item AS AN IMMEDIATE UPGRADE TO EXISTING EQUIPMENT may roll according to the Raid Leader instructions. There is no limit to the number of items a single person may earn on a single raid, but Walkers courtesy will be upheld. This means that if another player can use the item and you have already won one, you will defer the item unless the other character says otherwise.
3. All items that cannot be immediately claimed will be kept by the Raid Leader or designated Raid Looter for sale and all proceeds will go towards Guild funding.
4. Some unclaimed fabled items may be transmuted (should a transmuter be in the raid) ONLY PENDING THE RAID LEADER'S APPROVAL. If approved, all transmuted items will be rolled for by all members of the raid at the conclusion of the event.
5. Guild Points may be used to "purchase" the ability to roll on an item. See Guild Point Regulation for the required points needed. It is good to be a Walker, as this can be used to "guarantee" an item.
NOTE: The use of Guild Points only secures the ability to roll. If two members of Walkers uses Guild Points, the higher of the two will gain the item. Guild Points will only be deducted from the winning character. If a member of Walkers uses Guild Points and a non-Walkers member wishes for the item, the member of Walkers will automatically get that item and points will be deducted. Whereas this may be a sticking point, please remember that raiding is to make sure that our members get geared out first.
Heroic Opportunities
Many times throughout the raid someone will have started a “Heroic Opportunity” Please pay attention to these wheels as they appear on your screen – if the next step in the HO requires a spell you can SAFELY CAST at that time please do so. Many of these HO can help us while attacking mobs in a variety of ways!
Away from Keyboard
Usually about half way through the raid the raid leader will announce a short AFK – this is the time to empty your pee jar / get another tasty beverage etc. If an emergency comes up when we are adventuring, be sure to send a tell to your group letting them know you need to AFK for aid emergency and that you are auto following person X in group. Also please send a private tell to the raid leader stating that you need a fast AFK for the emergency and that you are on auto follow – the raid leader might or might not call for a raid wide AFK at this point – but it is important that they know you are in fact there or not. Make sure to use your AFK tag when you are in fact AFK!
Pets
Please keep all “God Pets” and non-combat related (Sokars, Billy Dolls etc) hidden during raid. While you might enjoy looking at your pet all it is doing is adding potential lag to the zone.
-Last but not least:
Please make sure you know your character and their spells! It is important that you know the abilities of your character, and when to use them. If you need to “refresh” yourself please do so at one of the many sites available!
In addition to this make sure that you “spend” you achievement points well on you AA trees. This means for fighters to improve their melee and DPS lines in addition to STR and STA. Healers, you should focus you points on the heal lines and not worry about DPSing – remember your primary job in a raid is to keep the MT, MA as well as the rest of the raid force up – there will be plenty of other toons in the raid to provide us with the DPS that is needed!.
It is suggested that you place an Achievement Mirror in your house and save an alternative AA line on it, one set-up for casual grouping one for raiding. Make sure to come to raids with the correct AA line! There are several guild members who can make these mirrors if you do not already have one, and the components can be purchased off the broker for a few gold need be.
Unfortunately it needs to be said:
Failure to follow the above will result in you being warned ONCE, (by a guild officer), and for you to review the raiding rules again. If problems continue to occur you will be asked not to raid with us in the future until you can prove yourself again!
Remember – we are here to have fun!
